Fun, Friendship and Feeling.

Excursions on both Summer 1 and Summer 2 are for all students and they travel together by coach or train.

On Summer 1, students make two day excursions, one to London and one to Winchester.

Our trip to London is a blend of sightseeing and education. Buckingham Palace, Covent Garden, Nelson’s Column and Trafalgar Square are obvious choices but we also take some time to visit the National Science Museum which is a really rewarding experience for juniors and teens alike.
Winchester, home of King Arthur, the well-known cathedral and Jane Austen’s burial ground, proves ideal for souvenirs and a picnic lunch on the common. There is the chance to hike up St. Catherine’s Hill if time allows and look out over the lovely county of Hampshire.
Around Steyning there are wonderful villages and sights to see within walking distance. Students can visit these places and of course, further along the coast is Brighton. There are weekly trips by bus or train to Brighton and in good weather, students can spend time sunbathing on the beach and swimming in the sea.
A nature walk is organised during the stay and after climbing to the top of the Downs around Steyning, there is a picnic lunch and the magic and myth of Chanctonbury Ring to explore.
